Rose at 19 months

This month Rose has been asserting her independence at every opportunity.  She especially loves it if she can influence adults to take action: she knows listing foods usually makes Mom & Dad go fetch them from the fridge.  She takes our hands and says, "Sit! Sit!" in the hopes we will stand up and let her climb into our previously-occupied chair.  (On the plus side, she recently added "Please!" to this command as in "Sit! Peez!") She certainly will not sit still for bedtime stories.  And don't get me started on our limit-setting around daytime pacifier use.  Who knew the "terrible twos" actually start at 19 months-- though "terrible 1-1/2s" doesn't quite roll off the tongue.  Ahhh, the joys of parenting.
This Month:  Rose is nearly 28 lbs and is 34 1/2 inches tall (89th and 99th percentiles respectively).  She has 12 teeth.
She's been practicing some new two-word combos including, "Shoe on!" "Sock off!" "Daddy home!" and "Mommy shoes!"  We lost count of her vocabulary around 100 words, but some of the latest acquisitions include "shoulder," "boot," and "yogurt."
