Rosie 1.5

It's hard to believe this gal is 18 months old.  But just looking at photos from the past few weeks, she already looks much older.  She's definitely showing a will of her own, and we're getting schooled very quickly in choosing our battles and avoiding power struggles.
The past couple of days, Rose has started to have strong opinions about our choice of footwear-- telling us to "open" our laces, take off our shoes, and change to the ones she's selected.  I've heard toddlerhood called "the first adolescence," and that's starting to make a lot of sense.
Her favorite words lately are "open" (imperative, not adjective), "on," "off," "door," and "button."  Are you sensing a theme?  She is very curious and wants to explore and manipulate everything, all the time.  She loves latches, keys, boxes, containers, lids, bottles, utensils...

Rosie continues to be quite verbal-- some of her newest acquisitions include "tunnel," "buckle" and "walk."  She has 2 upper molars now, for a total of 10 teeth.  Height and weight updates to come!  Her all-time favorite activity is blowing bubbles (or licking the wand and spilling the bubble solution).  We've taken to hiding it outside, but she hardly lets us open the curtains without asking for them.
